About us · First Mile Logistics
The box seats are one thing. The field is another.
GoTruck moves containers and dry vans by road, from Costa Rica to Central America and Panama. We do it from the field: the yard, the line at the port and the border at three in the morning.
What GoTruck is: the first mile, by land
GoTruck is a road freight carrier. We move containers and dry vans by road: from the dock to the plant, from the farm to the port, and from Costa Rica to Central America and Panama.
We call the first mile the first leg by land: the one that takes the cargo out of the plant, the farm or the dock and puts it on its way. It is the short leg of the trip and the one where delays come easiest: the ship has a cut-off and the border has a line.
- Dry containers and refrigerated (reefer) containers between Moín, Limón, Caldera and the Central Valley.
- Port–warehouse–port moves for inspection, and empty container pickup.
- Regional dry van from Costa Rica to Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama, with a waybill (carta de porte).
- Customs transit (in-bond) under our own carrier code: the cargo travels uncleared, under customs control.
The base is in Costa Rica and the reach is regional. The brand signs as A GIG Company.
How we operate: owned or subcontracted, the same standard
We do not sell a fleet. We sell a standard. We operate with our own equipment and with a network of verified partner carriers: the network gives capacity when the port fills up or the harvest peaks; the standard means it does not matter whose tractor it is.
Ours
Own equipment
3-axle chassis for containers and gensets for refrigerated cargo. The chassis carries the heavy container; the genset powers the reefer while it rolls.
The network
Verified partner carriers
They go through the same inspection, the same driver check and the same K9 inspection as one of our own units. Their GPS shows on the same map.
| Control and what is checked | Owned | Subcontracted |
|---|---|---|
| 22-point inspectionFluids, tires, lights, fifth wheel, fire extinguisher and GPS, before every departure. | Yes | Yes |
| Verified driverCriminal background check, valid license, and alcohol and drug test. | Yes | Yes |
| K9 inspectionK9 security inspection before departure. | Yes | Yes |
| GPS and panic buttonThe unit reports its position throughout the trip, on the same map. | Yes | Yes |
| Authorized routes and stopsThe driver travels and stops only where approved. | Yes | Yes |
| 24-hour monitoringThe monitoring center follows the unit day and night. | Yes | Yes |

If it does not pass, it does not load. A driver or a unit rejected at inspection does not load with us again, whether our own or a partner’s.
Credentials: what you can verify
You do not have to take our word for it. You can check these three things before the first trip.

Whose cargo we move: three types of customer
Freight forwarders
You are the forwarder and you need someone to supply the truck. We give you capacity, paperwork in order and a tracking link to pass on to your customer.
Logistics operators
You outsource the road leg without losing sight of the cargo: the unit on the map and status reports at the frequency we agree on.
Fresh fruit exporters
From the farm or the packing house to the port, in a reefer container with a genset. The fruit does not wait and neither does the ship.
We are already on the field with them
Where we move: from Panama to Guatemala
The base is in Costa Rica: both coasts (Moín and Limón on the Caribbean, Caldera on the Pacific) and the Central Valley. From there the regional dry van heads north and south.

Before the first trip: what we get asked
Does GoTruck have its own equipment or does it subcontract?
Both: our own equipment (3-axle chassis and gensets) and a network of verified partner carriers. There is one rule: owned or subcontracted, the unit goes through the same inspection, the same driver check and the same K9 inspection. If it does not pass, it does not load.
Who do I talk to if the truck belongs to a partner carrier?
To GoTruck, from start to finish. We assign the unit, follow it on the map and report to you. The tracking link is the same, no matter whose tractor it is.
How do I verify that you are a licensed customs carrier?
Our land customs carrier code with Costa Rica’s Directorate General of Customs (DGA) is CR02343, for domestic and international transit. It is printed on our waybills (cartas de porte). If your vendor onboarding asks for supporting documents, request them by email or WhatsApp before the first trip.
How far do you go?
Within Costa Rica we move containers between Moín, Limón, Caldera and the Central Valley. Beyond it, the regional dry van leaves Costa Rica for Nicaragua, Honduras (Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula), El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama, with a waybill (carta de porte) and customs transit.
How do I know where my cargo is?
With every shipment we send you a tracking link: the truck on the map and the trip milestones, each with its time. It opens on your phone, with no username or password, and you can forward it to your customer.
Are you available at any hour?
The operation runs 24/7 and the monitoring center works day and night. To get a quote, the fastest way is the form or WhatsApp.
